An involving and fast-moving piece of entertainment that has a nice sense of malicious fun, and features a compelling battle of wits in which Jamie Fox and Gerard Butler demonstrate their acting chops and star power. Butler who channels Mel Gibson to good effect is particularly impressive evoking both enmity and empathy. In the end, nothing is simply black or white and each comes to understand the other's point of view, and along the way there are some gruesome thrills, a couple of good jolts, laughs, and even a little snack food for thought. The cinematography and locations are evocative, and the supporting cast is first-rate and convincing. Though implausible, and even morally questionable, Law Abiding Citizen is a fun ride that's worth the price of admission.
