Photo: Summit Entertainment On Monday when I asked "Who's the Next Big Male Movie Star?" it was just an article I thought of writing at the last minute. There wasn't any kind of ranking system, just something to get the brain working and ask a question. However, it turned into quite a one-sided debate as Robert Pattinson fans dominated the comment section and once again Twilight fandom took control and an article today at The Hollywood Reporter is asking an equally difficult question with regard to Twilight: "But will the buzz translate into blockbuster box-office?" The following paragraph quickly reminds us how difficult the question is to answer: The question has become one of the industry's most debated. Its answer will offer a referendum not just on Summit's ability to shepherd a studio-style hit but also on whether franchises can be created on modest budgets at a time when

Actress Melissa Leo has joined James Gandolfini and Kristen Stewart in Jake Scott’s indie drama “Welcome to the Rileys,” according to Variety.
The trade says the story revolves around a couple (Gandolfini, Leo) driven apart by the death of their daughter but brought back together when they meet a troubled young woman (Stewart).
Scott is directing a script by Ken Hixon, writer of “City by the Sea.” “Rileys” heads into production this month.
Leo most recently starred in “Frozen River” and “Righteous Kill.” She’s currently filming Jake Goldberger’s “Don McKay,” about a man (Thomas Haden Church) who returns to his hometown only to find his long-lost love on the verge of death.
Stewart will next be seen in Catherine Hardwicke’s anticipated vampire romance “Twilight.” As for Gandolfini, watch out for him in Tony Scott’s remake of “The Taking of Pelham 123.”

The fruit of Paramore's work on the soundtrack of Vampire movie "Twilight" is now available for streaming. "Decode" is one of the two songs that the rock band specially made for the movie. It will also be the first single outed from the Ost album which is now due for a release on November 4.
The song is available for listening in full on StephenieMeyer.com, the website owned by the author of the books the movie is based on. It has also been revealed via MTV that Paramore will shoot a music video for the song "sometime around October 13".
"The song is about the building tension, awkwardness, anger and confusion between Bella and Edward," said Hayley Williams, vocalist of Paramore. "Bella is the only mind Edward can't read, and I feel like that's a big part of the first book and one of the obstacles for them to overcome. It's

Twilight won't debut here in America until November 21st, but fangless vampire fans with a passport and a private jet can see some of it earlier. The Rome Film Festival announced its lineup this morning, and in the mix of indies they'll also be showing 15 minutes of Catherine Hardwicke's hotly anticipated vampire flick in October. In addition to that 15 minutes from the actual film, they'll be showing behind the scenes footage. The movie's director and some of its cast will also be in attendance to meet fans, at Stephenie Meyer, author of the book on which it is based, will read passages from her newest book. Who's up for a trip to Italy? I wonder if perhaps they were hoping to show the entire film, and simply rant out of time. It's odd for a filmmaker to show up at a film festival with only a snippet of her film.

Details of "Twilight" soundtrack are starting to take its shape with Perry Farrell revealing his involvement in the Ost project. Weeks after Paramore announced that they have been booked to write songs for the soundtrack, the former Jane's Addiction frontman opened up to MTV that he has written a song for the vampire romance flick entitled "Go All the Way".
Though details on the song still remain vague, the track, which is described to be described as a "tumultuous" mix of dance, rock and alternative music styles, has been said to be overheard in a crucial scene of the film. About the special song, Farrell explained, "The song conjures up that adolescent feeling when a young man, who has been pursuing a girl he really likes, finally gets her. It's about the intense emotions when they go all the way."
"Go All the Way" is produced by Atticus Ross and mixed by Alan Moulder.

Stephenie Meyer is taking another bite out of Hollywood. The author, who has already hit the jackpot with her series of vampire novels and the soon to be released film version, Twilight, has also directed her first music video for alt-rock band Jack's Mannequin. Shot in Malibu, the video for the single "The Resolution," off the band's sophomore record The Glass Passenger, which released Tuesday, has a "whimsical, other worldliness look to it," says Mannequin singer-keyboardist Andrew McMahon. He adds that they called upon Meyer to craft the concept of the video after hearing she was a fan of their tunes.

Jackson Rathbone has been cast in the upcoming Clive Barker adaptation of Dread, based on the short story from his legendary Books Of Blood. (It's a real sicko tale too!) Anthony Diblasi is writing and directing Dread, which "tells the story of Quaid, a student of philosophy, who is obsessed by his own nightmare of an ax-murdering clown so he concocts a series of experiments to observe firsthand how other people react to the things that most horrify them. But while Quaid slowly unpeels the psyches of his imprisoned and tortured captives like a reeking onion, his own dread waits, just beyond his control." Rathbone (who plays Jasper in Twilight and also appears in the upcoming S. Darko) will be playing the role of Stephen Grace in Dread. Shooting begins this October for a release sometime next year.

Even the jurors at Strasbourg International Film Festival seem to agree with my rather generous praise of Robert Pattinson's performance in How To Be. The young actor just won his first international film award- as Best Actor in a Feature Film! (http://www.strasbourgfilmfest.com/films-up-for-nods-08.html) Pattinson won the award over two other nominees- Michael Madsen for Strength and Honour (http://www.strengthandhonorthemovie.com/) (representing Ireland) and Ali Atay for Happy New Year London (http://www.iyisenelerlondra.com/) (representing both Turkey and the UK). Oliver Irving's first feature was also the opening night film at the Festival. This happens to be one of the six or seven international film festivals that the movie is currently participating. For the month of October, the movie will be part of New Orleans Film Festival (October 10-16, 2008), Indie 2008 Film Festival, Brazil (October 10-16, 2008) and Austin Film Festival (October 16-23). Here's what

New details of the "Twilight" reshoots have been unearthed at the party to celebrate the Young Hollywood issue of Teen Vogue magazine and it appears that some of the shoots were done due to weather issues. To MTV, Nikki Reed and Taylor Lautner discussed bits of details that they can share out.
Talking about the top-secret shoots, Reed who plays Rosalie Hale in the film carefully hinted on the reason behind the reshooting of several scenes. "What are we allowed to say?" she said. "I think all we can say is, there were a few days when there were some weather issues [during the original shoot earlier this year] and some time issues, and a few things that could have been done better. And they were."
Since her character is a member of the Cullen family and the additional scenes shot were involving flashback as what has been revealed previously by other cast members, the 20-year-old noted

If you're a "Twilight" fan, I'm sure you've heard of Forks, Washington before. But that question is: have you already been there?
If not, you should definitely on going, because ever since Stephenie Meyer's books became a hit, the town has seen an increasing number of visitors curious to see where Bella fell in love with a vampire.
Forks is the setting of the "Twilight" books, which chronicle the romance between a 17-year-old who moves to the town and falls for Edward Cullen, a vampire.
CNN today posted an interesting article about how the books have helped Forks become a top destination for die-hard "Twilight" fans:
"In a town framed by towering Douglas fir, hemlock and spruce and the occasional western red cedar, where rough, blue collar edges are tangible, the unexpected attention seems to be a second chance for the economy."
Well then, time to pack your bags folks.

I would guess that at some point in our lives, almost all of us have been a fan - some are probably more die-hard than others - but we have at one point or another looked up to and admired someone special - a great athlete perhaps, or an amazing movie actor, a talented singer or leader of a rock band, maybe an author or writer or poet.. - - - - - - As a book and movie fan, there can be no greater joy than the anticipation of the movie adaptation of a favorite book. I can still remember how excited I became a few years ago upon hearing that one of Anne Rice’s Vampire books was about to be made into a movie. When JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series was first considered for big screen adaptation, I’m pretty sure the books’ loyal readers were just as excited.
