just now | buddytv.com | See recent BuddyTV news »

Miley Cyrus isn't the only chart-topper in Hannah Montana, as her co-star Emily Osment has also achieved that status for her music.  The 17-year-old singer has just released her Ep, titled All the Right Wrongs, last week and already it's hitting the high notes.  As of now, it's #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and gaining even more fame.

On her official website, Emily Osment posted a video of herself talking about what All the Right Wrongs means to her.  She discussed which one was her favorite among those songs she wrote personally, even though all the tunes connect with her on a deeper level.

2 hours ago | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

One "Twilight Saga" cast member has stripped down for a cause. Christian Serratos, the actress who plays Angela Weber of "Twilight" and its sequel "The Twilight Saga's New Moon", is the latest celebrity posing nude for PETA to show her support for its "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" ad campaign.

She is captured wearing nothing but her birthday suit and leaning against a tree in a dark, misty forest. Accompanying the photo, a short article read, "Animal killed for their fur are electrocuted, drowned, beaten and often skinned alive. Please don't wear fur." The picture was released by Serratos herself through her Twitter page as well as by the animal rights organization, which also gives out behind-the-scenes footage from her photo shoot.

With the outing of the ad, the 19-year-old is recorded to be the youngest person to bare all for the animal rights organization's campaign against fur. »

Though Miley Cyrus has worked on several studio albums, it doesn't mean that she knows all genres of music and listens to lots of tracks. "I've never heard a Jay-z song," the teen sensation said on Saturday, October 31. She additionally revealed, "I don't listen to pop music."

Asked about the inspiration behind the making of her single "Party in the U.S.A", which recently secured the first position on the Top 40 charts, the "Hannah Montana" star said, "I don't know." Later, she continued talking about the track that was written by Dr. Luke, Claude Kelly, and Jessica Cornish, "I didn't write the song, so I have no idea."

‘This Is It’ Bringing in Millions

6 November 2009 7:54 PM, PST | Atomic Popcorn | See recent Atomic Popcorn news »

Heading into its second weekend in theaters, the Michael Jackson movie This Is It has already brought in the big bucks.

According to Sony, This Is It has raked in more than $100 million from international box offices. This far exceeds the expectation for the film, which many thought would see similar intake as 2008’s concert film Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds. Instead, This is It has brought in over twice the amount that Best of Both Worlds did.

The countries in which This Is It has seen the highest box office take were Japan, Britain, and Germany, bringing in $18.2 million, $11.1 million, and $8.9 million respectively.

Combined with the $44 million grossed in the U.S. and Canada, this takes This Is It’s profit to $144 million so far.

This is It has seen such success that Sony has extended the film’s run to go through early December in the U. »

In anticipation of Disney Pixar’s November 10th release of Up on DVD and Blu-ray, here are some little know facts from the movie.

* In the sequence where Carl’s house first lifts up, the Luxo Jr. ball can be seen in the girl’s bedroom as the house goes by her window.

* The Pizza Planet Truck, which first made an appearance in Toy Story, has made a cameo in nearly every Pixar film.  In Up, the Pizza Planet truck can be seen at an intersection when Carl’s house flies over the town. The truck makes as second appearance in the Fentons Creamery parking lot at the end of the film.

* The number A113, which refers to Brad Bird and John Lasseter’s former classroom at CalArts, makes an appearance in every Pixar film.  A113 is the courtroom number when Carl makes an appearance to plead his case.

Video: Miley Cyrus Has Never Listened to Jay-z

6 November 2009 6:50 AM, PST | Celebuzz.com | See recent Celebuzz news »

Miley Cyrus has a confession to make—her hit single "Party in the U.S.A." isn't nearly as autobiographical as it may seem. In the song, the Hannah Montana star famously sings about how her homesickness  and tension are alleviated when a Jay-z song comes on the radio. However, as it turns out—and you'd better sit down for this—such a scenario never occurred. During a recent interview in Louisville, Kentucky, a reporter asked her which Jay-z song had inspired the lyric, and Cyrus confessed, "I don't know, I didn't write the song, so I have no idea. Honestly, I picked that song because I needed something... »

Malese Jow has landed a role on The Vampire Diaries.

The actress, who has appeared on Hannah Montana and The Secret Life of the American Teenager, will play Anna; she's described by producer Kevin Williamson as "Jeremy's smart, new friend."

Following Vicki's death last week, we're pretty sure Jeremy needs more than a mere friend.

“We’ll see how it goes,” Williamson told TV Guide Magazine. “Jeremy certainly turns her head. She gets a crush. It starts in one place and maybe ends someplace else.”

Sony Pictures has a runaway hit in Michael Jackson’s This Is It, Is Oscar Gold on the way?

2 November 2009 3:52 PM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

In an unsurprising piece of news, director Kenny Ortega's posthumous Michael Jackson documentary Michael Jackson's This Is It had a sensational gross over the first five days of its release.  The film became "...the highest-grossing concert film worldwide" in the five days since its release.  The $101 million dollar worldwide gross pushed the film well past former record-holder Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, which pulled $70.6 million.  The success of the film has compelled Sony Pictures to keep the film in theaters well past its originally-planned limited run. Despite the film's good reviews, I found sitting through it to be an exercise in boredom.  It offered little to no insight into who the man really was; the film just redundantly cemented the fact that he was a perfectionist performer (which I think the world at large already knows). The film's stitched-together scenes of various rehearsal »

Why Sony decided to leave 'This is It' in theaters through Thanksgiving

2 November 2009 2:34 PM, PST | EW - Hollywood Insider.com | See recent EW.com - Hollywood Insider news »

Sony Pictures' decision to extend the run of This Is It through Thanksgiving weekend was not about fooling audiences, Sony's vice-chairman Jeff Blake tells EW. Rather, the part-concert film, part-documentary was initially receiving a two-week run for two reasons: one, it was being rolled out in similar fashion to the most recent concert films (Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour and Jonas Bros: The 3D Concert Experience were also set up initially for two-week engagements) and two, Blake was trying to get theaters to agree to a shorter window between theatrical and DVD (a negotiation »

If Only Jackson Had Been Alive To See “It”

2 November 2009 1:52 PM, PST | Studio Briefing - Film News | See recent Studio Briefing - Film News news »

In a case of what Billboard describes as turning "human tragedy into ... creative and financial triumph," the Michael Jackson concert documentary This Is It! opened with an estimated $32.5 million over its first five days ($21.3 million over the three-day weekend) in North America and $68.5 million in 97 other countries, including $10.4 million in Japan, $7.6 million in the U.K., $6.3 million in Germany, and $5.8 million in France. While the film's box office did not rival the openings of major studio blockbusters -- at least domestically -- it certainly exceeded the ticket sales for previous concert documentaries. Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds 3D Concert collected $31.1 million over a three-day weekend last year, which included 3D surcharges at most theaters (This Is It! played at a relative handful of IMAX venues), and $70.6 million worldwide. Like the Cyrus movie, This Is It! was announced as a limited-run event. But the movie had barely hit the screens before Sony announced that it was extending it until the Thanksgiving weekend. Overall ticket sales, which are typically soft over the last weekend of October and dismal over any weekend that includes Halloween, were up 7 percent over the comparable weekend last year. Meanwhile, Paranormal Activity continued to scare up ticket sales in its sixth week of release (three weeks nationwide), as it took in $16.5 million, to bring its domestic total to $84.8 million. But Saw VI bled 61 percent of its audience in its second week to wind up with about $5.6 million. Where the Wild Things Are suffered a worse decline, slumping 64 percent to $5.1 million. And The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day apparently played only to cult fans in the 68 theaters where it opened, earning $462,000. »

As expected, "Michael Jackson's This Is It" was the box-office champion over the Halloween weekend, taking in an estimated $21.3 million in the United States. The bigger news was that the documentary chronicling the King of Pop's final rehearsals for his planned 50-show comeback residency in London banked more than $101 million worldwide.

The totals easily made "This Is It" the #1 movie in America, beating out the still-strong thriller "Paranormal Activity," which was second with $16.5 million. Fans who didn't wait in line or rush out to see "This Is It" during its first few days in theaters also got a reprieve, as Sony Pictures — the studio that paid $60 million for the rights to release the film — announced that the planned two-week-only engagement will now be extended through Thanksgiving.
