Lifestyle queen Martha Stewart's mother has died. She was 93. Martha Kostyra - who was nicknamed 'Big Martha' - passed away at Norwalk Hospital near her home in Weston, Connecticut, on Friday after suffering a stroke early last week. Stewart, 66, has often credited Kostyra for teaching her all she knows about the tips and tricks of domestic work, and she frequently appeared alongside her daughter on her morning TV show, Martha. Stewart broke the news of her mother's death on her website on Saturday, where she posted video clips of the two together on her blog. She writes: "I am very sad to tell you that my mom passed away. Here's a tribute to Martha Kostyra - Big Martha." Widowed Kostyra, a retired teacher, is survived by her six children.

Martha Stewart will be providing 10 hours of Halloween tips that can be viewed on demand by Comcast subscribers beginning this week, the cable provider and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia announced Monday. It's all part of a planned package of video-on demand holiday programming that will be available on Comcast systems each month featuring past episodes of the Martha talk show and Martha Stewart Living. November will feature Thanksgiving-themed programs; December, Christmas-themed programs, etc. In a statement, Sheraton Kalouria, president of broadcasting for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, said that joining up with Comcast, the nation's leading cable provider, will enable MSLO "to stay in front of consumers 24/7 with a channel that is uniquely Martha Stewart."
