Parents Guide for
When a Stranger Calls (2006)

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this new feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes .
Visit our Parents Guide Help to learn more

Sex & Nudity

There is a 5 second flash of a teenage cheerleader girl dancing very close to a teenage guy.

Violence & Gore

Jill stabs the man in the hand

Jill's head gets trapped in a door, and she is forced to rip a large portion of her hair out

Dead people

Profanity

mild, but nothing over the top

In the beginning of the movie, there is a carnival going on and apparently a girl by the name of Stacey is babysitting. You don't see inside the house, just the house. She gets a call and you hear a man ask what her name is. Not long after you see a light turn on in a room, and a shadow of a man attack the young girl

There are too many intense scenes to name here, but I'll name as much as I can.

When Jill gets the calls and knows someone's in the house

Jill runs to the guesthouse

She gets a call saying someone is in the house, and when she drops the phone the light shines on her dead friend lying on the ground.

The man is on the ceiling

She can't find the kids

She is running away from the man

She hides in a pond inside the house, and she hides under a bridge while the man grabs at her, forcing her under water

Dead people are shown

At the end of the movie, she's having a dream about being alone in the hospital and the phone ringing. She doesn't answer and closes a door that has a mirror on it, and she sees the man in the background so she wakes up screaming and yelling while doctors try to calm her down

Many running scenes and scenes that you're saying "Don't go there!"
