Does anyone remember that show Later? Back in 1988 it was hosted by Bob Costas for six years, then from 1994-1996 Greg Kinnear took over, and in 1998-2000 Cynthia Garrett. Since it was taken off the air in 2000, we saw for about 2 years reruns of SCTV, as you all remember. In 2002 though NBC got the idea that Carson Daly would be the late night half hour filler, what a terrible mistake.
Carson Daly has no skills at being funny, or interviewing guests. The show looks like it is being hosted at a mechanics garage. NBC really made a mistake here, hopefully within the next year this show starts to fizzle out.
What's worse is now is recently Daly is trying to do comedy bits. He fails miserably trying to force feed us comedy he ripped from Leno, such as the headlines. It seems NBC has had trouble filling this half hour slot with anything entertaining. I'd rather they just put those little colored lines on the screen for a half hour, I'd rather watch that.
