The company who made the movie is helmed by the real-life five Burton sisters.
The film equipment was stolen during shooting, threatening to shut down the film - but it was returned a day later by a pawn-shop owner. The pawn-shop owner only said, "I want the sisters to keep making their movie." (the robbers also left their real names and address at the pawn shop.)
This is the third film from the five sisters of Five Sisters Productions. For this one, they optioned a script written by their mother, and asked their father to retire from his job to join them to work on the movie.
The filmmakers are donating part of their proceeds from the film to the charity "Habitat For Humanity".
The sisters' parents play cameos in their films. In this one they are the bickering dance couple.
