Trivia:
Series creator Joss Whedon wanted to do a musical episode as early as the first season, but the network wouldn't allow him to. When the show switched networks after the fifth season, he was finally able to get his wish, resulting in the episode "Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More, with Feeling (#6.7)" (2001). moreSoundtrack:

The first 3 seasons of this show were terrific, but after that it became a silly, almost corny and stupid show. After season 3, creator Joss Whedon split his time between this and the spinoff Angel and other projects and the series lost focus and was set adrift. There is still a little amount of entertainment to be felt, but it's a pale shadow to what it used to be. The first years had compelling episodes that really challenged television and dramatic writing. The humor, acting, and writing were all on par, but went down swiftly in season 4 and only picked up for a while in season 5. Currently the show is in talks of being cancelled, and that would be the best thing for it. It's long overdue. I think they should have ended this after season 3. The show's current 7th season is a borefest with bad acting and writing...the show went way downhill. I highly recommend seeing this show, but ONLY the first 3 seasons. In fact, they have them out on DVD and I strongly recommend buying them, they are that good, but season 3 ends in a way that you can consider it the series finale and it works with all ends tied up. I highly recommend you watch up to season 3 and consider that the series finale, it will end on a good note and save you a lot of pain. Nevermind the show really goes on, you will only be sorrier you kept watching if you acknowledge there are more episodes. The show does deserve all this praise, but only for the high school years.
