Robert Downey Jr. was born in New York City on April 4th, 1965, the son of film maker Robert Downey. One of his first roles was The Pick-Up Artist, opposite Molly Ringwold in 1987. He has since starred in films like Chaplin as Charlie Chaplin as well as the more recent Iron Man and the upcoming Guy Ritchie film Sherlock Holmes.
