Although she garnered an Academy Award nomination for her role in 1998’s Hilary and Jackie, Rachel Griffiths — currently starring in ABC’s Brothers & Sisters — says that television work suits her just fine. “I have a nice balance,” she notes in the November issue of Cookie magazine.
The ability to bring new baby Clementine Grace, 4 months, to work helps. “[Clem is there about] “half the time, depending on how my days are,” she adds.
On those days when her family of five — which includes son Banjo Patrick, 6 this month, daughter Adelaide Rose, 4, and her artist husband Andrew Taylor — are together at their Santa Monica home, »

Thinking outside the box when it comes to naming babies goes part and parcel with being a celebrity, and in their search to come up with the perfect moniker some have clearly pushed that envelope more than others. According to nameberry.com co-founder Linda Rosenkrantz, word names are an increasingly popular way to do just that.
“When looking for a really unusual baby name, many celebrities have started to search the dictionary for a noun or adjective that will define their child, choosing words that have rarely, if ever been used before as people-names,” she explains.

Every show has an off-week. Unfortunately, for Jay Leno when he has an off-week, it takes up five hours worth of our time. Almost every guest was less than entertaining, and even most of the comedy bits missed this week. Luckily, there were some redeeming moments throughout, most of which I've included right here for you. See, I just saved you five hours of time.
With Rachel Griffiths appearing this week, it appears that ABC's ban on their actors appearing on Leno's show may have finally been lifted. Unfortunately, she couldn't bring along a clip of Brothers & Sisters, so I guess they're still feeling a little sour. Or NBC doesn't want to promote a competing network's show too much.

Australian-born actress Rachel Griffiths is known for breaking the mold when it comes to naming her children, but she also broke with tradition somewhat with daughter Clementine Grace, 4 months.
“Adelaide is the capital of South Australia,” she explains of daughter Adelaide Rose, 4, while son Banjo Patrick, 5 ½, is named after “our national poet.” The 40-year-old Brothers & Sisters star notes during a recent appearance on The Jay Leno Show,
“Clementine is my first American name.”
Rachel went on to share that she was “traumatized” by the paparazzi after Adelaide’s birth, when she was snapped leaving the hospital. “They »

Finally, some happy tears to be shed on ABC's Brothers & Sisters. Sources tell me that along with a wedding, an extended hot French romance (Gilles Marini, anyone?) and a homecoming for Balthazar Getty and his so-much-better half Sarah Jane Morris, a huge pregnancy surprise is in the works. So who is the mama to be? I can rule out one Walker for you: It's not Sally Field. I know...Now you're really thrown! And though Kevin and Scotty will move forward with their surrogacy plans, this has nothing to do with that. More clues: Gilles Marini's 12-pack abs were just awarded an extra four episodes, slated to begin in January. So could Sara (Rachel Griffiths) have a... »

It sounds as though romance is going to be a staple on this season of Brothers and Sisters. There was the engagement of Rebecca (Emily VanCamp) to Justin (Dave Annable), then there's Robert (Rob Lowe) patching things up with Kitty (Calista Flockhart). Now, with Sarah (Rachel Griffiths) coming home from France, there's another relationship on the rise.
On his TV Guide interview, Gilles Marini, who was a guest-star on the last episode "From France with Love" hinted that his appearances on Brothers and Sisters may be more than expected. He first appeared as a suitor of Sarah's, but the actor revealed that this could simply "be more than a fling" for the two of them.

Giles Marini has claimed that his storyline on Brothers & Sisters could continue on. The former Dancing With The Stars contestant landed the role of Luc Laurent on the popular ABC show in May. The French-born actor, who has been brought aboard the series as a suitor for Sarah Walker (Rachel Griffiths), revealed that the romance during the five-episode story arc may prove to be "more than a fling". He told TV Guide: "He's different than her past [significant others]. It's a beautiful relationship between them. Going into the (more) »

Rachel Griffiths gave birth to her third child under a false name, after the paparazzi hijacked her last delivery.
The Australian star and her husband Andrew Taylor welcomed daughter Clementine Grace in Los Angeles back in June.
Griffiths was still haunted by a run in with the press when she gave birth to Clementine's big sister Adelaide four years before - and adopted stealth tactics to avoid their prying lenses this time around.
She says, "When I gave birth to Adelaide, all these paparazzi descended and I was in my dressing gown. It was traumatising. I didn't want to leave home for a month. No woman should be subjected to that.
"This time I checked in under a different name, to try and avoid that. I used Rebecca Hamilton."
But things didn't run as simply as Griffiths' planned, and she hints health problems made the birth a nerve-wracking affair.
She adds, "This time I thought I would be in and out, but things were a bit more complicated and I just want to thank everyone at Cedars for saving my baby's life.
"You only hear about the bad things, but everyday all across this country doctors and nurses are working so hard for us." »

Again with Kitty's cancer bringing the family closer together. On "From France with Love," we have Sarah (Rachel Griffiths) flying home from France and comforting her ill sister. We're also going to be introduced to a surprise guest star, who most of us already know.
"From France with Love" features actor and Dancing with the Stars runner-up Gilles Marini, who sums up the title of this episode of Brothers and Sisters. He'll be portraying Sarah's French lover Luc Laurent, who is an artist.

Has Brothers & Sisters' Sarah found herself a potential husband in Gilles Marini?
The Dancing with the Stars alum begins his five-episode arc on the ABC drama Sunday as Sarah's French suitor, Luc Laurent, who "could be it for her," Marini tells TVGuide.com.
"It's more than a fling. He's different than her past [significant others]. It's a beautiful relationship between them," he says. "Going into the filming of the fifth episode, there was a lot of talk of me coming back, so you may not see the last of Luc."
But we — and Rachel Griffiths' Sarah — have to meet him first, which she does while in France and it was...

If the news that Lauren Graham was joining the cast of NBC's Parenthood wasn't exciting enough, now comes word that Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino will write and exec produce a drama for HBO. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the untitled project follows the "complicated relationship between three adult sisters, all writers sharing the same upper east side apartment building, and their mother, a domineering literary lioness who reserves most of her affections for their ne'er-do-well brother." If we forget all about Sherman-Palladino's short-lived Fox sitcom The Return of Jezebel James (of which, Fyi, you can catch unaired eps on »

Dancing Dolls: An audience member in the balcony grabbed the studio's attention by holding up Donny and Marie Osmond dolls she brought to the taping. The Barbie-sized dolls were, according to the woman, a gift from many years ago. During a commercial break, the warm-up guy took a doll and walked down to have Marie, who was cheering on brother Donny from the front row, sign it. Center of Attention: He wasn't even on the dance floor but all eyes were on Gilles Marini as he took a seat in the front row next to Brothers and Sisters star Rachel Griffiths and Mark Dacascos' wife and three kids. Female fans squealed once they spotted Marini, a finalist last season. They stood up from their seats and shouted his name as the Sex and the City actor waved. Just a few minutes before the show went live, host Samantha Harris »

From black cats on "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch" to being the dark horse on "Dancing with the Stars," Monday night, Melissa Joan Hart cast a spell on her dancing shoes and enchanted the judges with her Charleston, earning two 10s -- her first for the season. Her partner, Mark Ballas, told "The Insider"'s Samantha Harris, "We had a little slow start. It takes people longer than others sometimes and I thought she blew it out the box tonight. And if she can maintain and stay comfortable and enjoying herself, I think she's really going to rise to the occasion." Melissa was flattered by compliments backstage from her peers. She said, "It's so nice when the pros have things to say, like Derek [Hough] was over the moon for me and Anna [Demidova] said that by watching us she couldn't tell I wasn't a pro…I think she's lying, but that was so sweet of her. »

Week 4 on Dancing With The Stars brought out four new routines—the bolero, two-step, lambada and Charleston—three perfect scores, two leaders and one elated former teenage witch. Melissa Joan Hart charmed the crowd with a jumpy Charleston that had audience member Gilles Marini and his plus-one, Brothers and Sisters costar Rachel Griffiths, on their feet. "I've gotten lots of perfect scores [in past seasons] but tonight is my proudest 10 I've ever gotten," Hart's dance partner Mark Ballas said after the show. "Going from [a score of] 19 to 28 in a week, it's unheard of!" Melissa's effort, however, couldn't knock last week's frontrunner, Mya, from the top of the leader board. With a hot lambada, a.k.a. "the forbidden dance," that had judge Bruno Tonioli fanning himself, Mya and Dmitry Chaplin also scored a 28. But they once again failed to please head judge Len Goodman. "I felt in the lambada I was going to get a little bit more, »

Ja from Mnpp here. Over the weekend I went to a wedding and whenever I go to a wedding my brain becomes enveloped in thoughts of P.J. Hogan's brilliant 1994 tragicomedy Muriel's Wedding. 1994! It was released in Australia the last week of September that year meaning it just turned 15 years old. Happy Anniversary, Muriel! The appropriate gift for 15 years of wedded bliss is crystal, so what do you think? Maybe a chandelier? She's shown an affinity for wearing them on her head before...
Oh just look at him. You know, in the fifteen years that this film's been around I've watched it dozens of times and it still seems unnecessary to me that she abandons her green-card-husband David Van Arkle (Daniel Lapaine) at the end when she decides she needs to stop lying. What could one possibly be lying about, climbing into bed with this?

It's a strange thing about Brothers & Sisters: At the end of every episode, I'm always more eager to talk about the next episode than I am to write about the one I just watched. Is that a good or a bad thing? It means I'll keep tuning in each week, but it makes the show feel like a rabbit chasing a carrot that it'll never quite catch. It needs the big Wow. Could it be on the horizon with Kitty's health scare? I'd bet my first born that I will sob next week when Nora is on that park bench »

After waltzing away as a runner-up on "Dancing with the Stars," Gilles Marini has a new gig on "Brothers & Sisters." The incredibly handsome actor talks to "Extra" about his five-episode stint on the ABC series.
"I'm in heaven every day," Marini dished to "Extra's" Terri Seymour on the set. Gilles says he's "honored" to play Rachel Griffiths' love interest... and it gets steamy between the two!
Co-star Sally Field loves having Gilles on the set, »
