Just a few days ago an amazing new poster for Iron Man 2 featuring the titular armor-suited hero standing back-to-back with War Machine was released. It marked the first time we got an official look at War Machine (as he’ll appear in the film), who’s real identity is Col. James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes, being played by Don Cheadle (after he replaced Terrence Howard).
The poster caused geekgasms everywhere amongst superhero movie fans (I know Screen Rant’s readers were particularly psyched by it, anyway ), and rightfully so. However, John Favreau, Marvel Studios and Paramount haven’t just left it at that: Some brand new images from Iron Man 2 were released not long after the poster was, now another new poster has been released.
The international teaser (as it’s being dubbed) shows just Iron Man on his own, but this time de-masked. It looks a little strange at first glance, »

New Moon and The Blind Side have had a choke-hold on the box office for the last two weeks, and although some big names hit the screen this weekend in new releases, I'm betting vampires and a blonde Sandra Bullock will once again earn 1st and 2nd place when Sunday rolls around. December kicks off with an action-packed heist, a widower traveling the country to connect with his kids, and the remake of a 2004 Danish film. Also hitting theaters in limited release is Jason Reitman's latest buzz-worthy offering:
Armored featuring Matt Dillon and Columbus Short
Brothers starring Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal
Everybody's Fine with Robert De Niro and Kate Beckinsale
Up in the Air (Limited) starring George Clooney and Anna Kendrick New and Expanded Photo Galleries

Paramount Pictures has just released several new pictures from Robert Downey Jr.-starring film "Iron Man 2". After releasing a poster which gives the first look at War Machine, the studio has shared four stills which feature some previously-exposed characters, like Tony Stark, Black Widow, and Ivan Vanko.
In one image, master engineer Stark is seen working with an electronic stuff. In another picture, he is exposed with his robotic buddy. Meanwhile, one particular photo shows Black Widow, the alter ego of Natasha Romanoff, in her tight costume. The last still additionally features Vanko standing in front of a wall which is full of clippings.
Tony Stark, Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff, and Ivan Vanko/Whiplash will be portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Mickey Rourke respectively. Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow and Samuel L. Jackson will reprise their roles as Pepper Potts and Nick Fury in this "Iron Man" sequel. »

Are you ready to feed the War Machine? The first poster for comic-book sequel "Iron Man 2" shows our red-and-gold armored hero backed by the silvery War Machine armor.
Geek moment: We comic-book lovers knew this moment was coming based on one scene in the first movie, where Col. Rhodes glimpses an unused suit of Iron Man armor and mutters "Next time." In the source material, Rhodey uses a Stark suit to fight crime as War Machine.
The upcoming movie features Robert Downey Jr.'s return as crimefighting inventor Tony Stark, with Don Cheadle stepping into Terrence Howard's shoes as Rhodey.

The new poster for Iron Man 2 (launched on Yahoo Movies) prominently features War Machine, Iron Man's partner-in-Armor. This has me incredibly excited. I love War Machine. Because of an accident of timing, I've always thought of War Machine as the original armored hero. Iron Man is just a pale, more colorful imitation. Let me explain. I grew up during a bizarro-world phase of comic book history when practically every major iconic character was being killed or otherwise eliminated to make way for a newer model, usually with some kind of chic mecha-costume add-on that would look great on an action figure. »

After a glut of news about director Jon Favreau's much-anticipated sequel to Iron Man over the summer, things died down considerably. But with the winter holiday movie season fast approaching, the Iron Man 2 marketing machine is back in full swing.
Favreau teased the news that a trailer for Iron Man 2 may appear before Sherlock Holmes by retweeting a question from a fan on his Twitter account. Both actor Robert Downey, Jr., who reprises the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Scarlett Johansson, appearing for the first time as Natasha Romanof/Black Widow, have promoted the film in recent interviews. And, this month's Empire magazine is running an Iron Man 2 cover story, complete with new stills.
Now, a new teaser poster has debuted featuring Iron Man and War Machine back-to-back in a dramatic composition. For the uninitiated, the War Machine armor is a slightly more robust »

Here is something to start off Tuesday with a bang - Iron Man and War Machine back-to-back on the brand new poster for Iron Man 2.
Robert Downey Jr. returns as the metal-suited Tony Stark with Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard as Col. James Rhodes who assumes a second suit made by Sam Rockwell's character, arms dealer Justin Hammer to become War Machine. Other foes drawn to the billionaire playboy superhero Stark are Mickey Rourke's Russian mobster Vanko who transforms himself into the electrifying Whiplash, as well as Eastern-bloc superspy Natasha Romanoff (played by Scarlett Johansson), who doubles up as the seductive Black Widow. Also returning are Gwyneth Paltrow as trusty aide Pepper Potts and Samuel L. Jackson who turned up at the end of the first installment as Avengers svengali Nick Fury.
Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment's issuance of the one sheet should mean that a trailer »

Paramount Pictures has released a promotional poster for upcoming action film "Iron Man 2". Making its way out via Yahoo! Movies, the image gives the first official look at War Machine, Tony Stark's best friend who wears silver armor. Additionally, the picture also exposes Iron Man in his slightly upgraded armor and features simple tagline "2" instead of the film's full title.
In the "Iron Man" sequel, War Machine and his alter ego Col James 'Rhodey' Rhodes will be portrayed by Don Cheadle after Terrence Howard, who took the role in the first film, quit the project. "I read something in the trades implicating that it was about money or something, but apparently the contracts that we write and sign aren't worth the paper that they're printed on, sometimes," Howard said about his exit. "Promises aren't kept, and good faith negotiations aren't always held up."
Though Howard will not be seen in the next film, »

Paramount has released a teaser poster (seen below) for Iron Man 2 that gives us the first official look at War Machine, the weaponized Mark II battlesuit warn by Tony Stark’s friend James “Rhodey” Rhodes. After a cast shake-up, Rhodey will be played by Don Cheadle and not Terrence Howard in the May 7, 2010 release.
The machine gun-equipped hero was shown briefly in footage at Comic-Con and pictures of the action figure have popped up online, but this is a better (yet still partial) look at what all the kids will be talking about six months from now. I think we all can agree it looks sweet.
As for other Iron Man news, Jon Favreau has hinted that a teaser trailer will be shown in front of Sherlock Holmes opening Christmas Day. Plus, in an interview with Empire Magazine, the director discussed the script phase and said Robert Downey Jr. »

Fresh from Yahoo, by way of director Jon Favreau's Twitter account, is the poster for Iron-Man 2! In addition to featuring the new Iron-Man costume, and that fancy Iron-Man 2 title you've so been looking forward to, the poster gives us one of our first looks at War Machine. Sure, it's just the two characters standing there, back to back, but it's Iron-Man and War Machine together at last. Someone cue some lovey-dovey music here, it's the moment we've been waiting for since Iron-Man had Terrence Howard hints at one day jumping into Tony Stark's trademark suit. And yes, Howard's been replaced by Don Cheadle in the sequel. Carry on, now. Source: Yahoo »

While we wait for more official stills from Iron Man 2, what appears to be our first look at Don Cheadle's much-anticipated War Machine costume has arrived online in the form of a toy advertisement from Diamond Select. They don't show you the full costume, though they give you a peek at the helmet and a dude who definitely looks like Cheadle. We're not entirely sure how War Machine will factor into the story this time around. In the comics, Jim Rhodes (played by Terrence Howard in Iron Man and Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2) takes on the War Machine persona when Tony Stark (Downey Jr.) relapses into alcoholism. It's kind of a dark story that probably won't be part of the sequel. My guess is that War Machine will show up to assist Iron Man in defeating the main villain (Whiplash) and...

Dito Montiel is instead pegging Son of No One as his next project, his third film following 2006's A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and this year's Fighting (you'd have to pay me to watch that one). This would mark the third time that Dito works with Channing Tatum (safe to say they're friends) and a second straight project with Terence Howard. Also attached are a pair of actors synonymous with "the streets" are Robert De Niro and James Gandolfini. Production is expected to begin in January. The thriller is about a young »

The news haven’t exactly been coming thick and fast for Iron Man 2 for the last few weeks, sure we saw Mickey Rourke in full Whiplash getup a couple of months back, and we’ve had a look at Robert Downey Jr. in his Iron Man 2 armour which, frankly, looks like the armour from the first movie – but what about the second tin-man who features alongside Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark? His friend and fellow ass-kicker War Machine?
Well if you’ve seen the first film, released to massive critical and fan praise last year, then you’d be forgiven for thinking that War Machine would be sporting the Iron Man mark II armour after Terrence Howard’s comments towards the end of the film (much like the picture up top). But if this new image of the War Machine action figure is anything to go by then »

A first look at Don Cheadle in his War Machine armor for Iron Man 2 has leaked online. sorta. Actually it.s almost more like a half-assed photoshopped concept rendering. The image comes from an advertisement for the upcoming War Machine toy discovered by Bleeding Cool in a comics industry catalogue. When we actually see Cheadle.s Jim Rhodes character suit up for the first time, I think it.s safe to assume it.ll be a lot cooler than this. It.s still hard to shake the feeling, though, that it.s supposed to be Terrence Howard in Iron Man.s leftover metal underwear. »

Way back in April we got our first official look at the highly-anticipated comic book sequel, Iron Man 2, in the form of an image of Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man) in what appears to be his “Hall of Armor” room. From then on we’ve slowly and surely been getting more looks at the superhero sequel, from Mickey Rourke as villain Whiplash, to Scarlet Johansson as the Black Widow.
Everything has looked great so far, and that trend continues with this latest image, courtesy of the guys over at Empire.
Empire has an exclusive new image of Tony Stark in the famous red and gold suit as the center-piece of their January 2010 cover. On top of the awesomeness of seeing the Iron Man suit in all its high quality glory (do you really need more than that? ), there’s also some hinting at the film’s villain, »

I may seem overtly cynical and critical of today's movies, but it's only because I care about quality when it comes to shelling out a few clams for a film. There was a time, long before my fingers even touched a keyboard, where studios and producers were true showman and labored long and hard to craft memorable pieces of entertainment. There are many artisans today who hold the same ideals, but they are few and far between, often having their works lost in the sea of stories and premises recycled over and over again. We the audience should demand to get our money's worth and more, not shrug our shoulders and give a pass to movies that are barely decent compared to all the other crap. Even a powerhouse studio like Disney lost its way over the years long after the passing of its founder. They hit a great stride »

It's another big holiday weekend with plenty of new releases to consider following your Thanksgiving feast this Thursday (and following your subsequent leftovers feasts through Sunday). In the same way that many Americans prefer alternatives to the traditional turkey and stuffing dinner on the day of gratitude, many moviegoers want something other than a studio tentpole release the day after Thanksgiving. Really, why would you want a popcorn movie when you're still full from the night before?
There are a couple of limited release options this week, including an important studio film getting a surprisingly soft opening, to appease such a film diet. Check these films out if you want something different as or additional to your main course this weekend:
