Hear Rob talk about working smart and safe as well as buying supplies locally, while Russel runs you through an on-set car explosion in which they explode a series of 1970’s era cars on “just another day on the job.”

New Criminologist dives deep into ‘The Irishman’ in “Inside an Upcoming Major Hollywood Mob Flick”

14 October 2009 12:58 PM, PDT | MovieSet.com | See recent MovieSet.com news »

While promoting the production of ‘The Irishman,’ we’ve found there are many disparate niches of fans for this film. For example, Vincent D’Onofrio, Christopher Walken, Val Kilmer, Ray Stevenson and many of the other actors have dedicated fan groups and dozens of fan sites and busy message boards.

Ray Stevenson as Danny Greene in 'The Irishman'

There are folks who have a personal association with the Cleveland mob wars and others who care mostly that the film is made in Detroit. Then of course, there are mafia movies fans And also the historians and researchers who adeptly chronicle every nuance of the situations, characters and compare/contrast the reality with the movies.

A perfect example of the latter is the New Criminologist who published an deep-dive article into the story by Ron Chepesiuk called The Irishman: Inside an Upcoming Major Hollywood Mob Flick.

Ten More Former Freaks & Geeks and What They're Up To Now

2 August 2009 4:00 AM, PDT | Pastemagazine.com | See recent PasteMagazine news »

Freaks & Geeks was canceled in 2000 after just 18 episodes, but for many of its cast and crew, there may not have been a better career move. Executive producer Judd Apatow, in particular, has gone on to much bigger (if not always better) things, making stars of Seth Rogen (Ken Miller), Jason Segel (Nick Andopolis) and James Franco (Daniel Desario) in the process. Linda Cardellini (Lindsay Weir) just wrapped up a six-year run on ER (we'll forgive her for Scooby-Doo), and Samm Levine (Neal Schweiber) will round out a string of movie roles this fall with Inglorious Basterds.

But this weekend, as Rogen and Apatow go at it again in Funny People, our thoughts turn to the rest of the show's cast. Most haven't quite ascended to that same level of young Hollywood elite, but some have been quietly making nice little careers for themselves under the radar. Others, well—"nice" might »

Stevenson points out that, (unlike other gangster movies) “… these people actually have lives so it kinda matters when they die - even though they are on the wrong side of the law.”

He discusses Greene’s style including green suits, green pens and the importance of the costumes in the film. »

The Goode Family: Low Ratings, Shipped to Fridays; Cancel or Keep It?

7 June 2009 10:18 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Fox continues to have success with its animated series so ABC has decided to give the genre another try. So, how is The Goode Family faring?

Co-created by King of the Hill's Mike Judge, The Goode Family is an animated series that revolves around a family that's obsessed about being "green" and living a politically correct lifestyle. The show stars the voice talent of Judge, David Herman, Nancy Carell, Linda Cardellini, and Brian Doyle Murray.

The series debuted on May 27th to mixed reviews and disappointing ratings. Only 3.93 million people tuned in with a 1.6/5 rating/share in the 18-49 demographic. That put the animated premiere in fourth place in total viewers and in third place in the coveted demo. What's more, the show lost 57% of lead-in Wipeout's audience.

For week two, ABC ran a pair of episodes and both performed poorly. Episode two attracted just 3.17 million viewers and a 1.2/4 in »
