Stage fans, we find ourselves on a weekend where lots of the star-driven shows on the boards -- ranging from Oleanna and After Miss Julie to A Steady Rain and Hamlet -- are set to close. Single tear. But, never fear! A handful of great new shows have opened in the last week, too, so you're covered. Reviews of five new shows went up on EW.com this week: our critics' takes on the touring production of The 101 Dalmatians Musical (B-); and off-Broadway entries The Brother/Sister Plays (A), This (B+), The Heart is a Lonely Hunter (C+), and A Streetcar Named Desire »

Former American Idol contestant Syesha Mercado may be the biggest known name in the revival of Dreamgirls that kicked off its national tour at Harlem's famed Apollo Theatre this week, but it's an unknown named Moya Angela who's generating all the buzz as Effie "I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" White, according to EW's Tanner Stransky. Also this week, the booty-shaking biographical Afrobeat musical Fela! (pictured at left) opened on Broadway to widespread raves (including a B+ from EW), while a fine cast headed by a lifeless Matthew Broderick struggled in director/playwright Kenneth Lonergan's disappointing new Off Broadway comic drama, »

Happy Turkey Day, PopWatchers! This year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade had a few new balloons, a revamped Santa float, and more NBC promos and placements than I can wrap my head around. Highlights Broadway! I'm a sucker for a show tune, and it was kind of nuts to see Hair being performed outside Macy's. My conflicting cultural institutions, let me show you them! John Stamos' Bye Bye Birdie performance, while, yeah, horribly lip-synced, was still charismatic and cute, and Billy Elliot and Shrek were completely serviceable. Fun times. Cream-colored coats Jane Krakowski, Andrea Bocelli, Katharine McPhee -- you heard it here first, »

It was a busy week on the boards. Sunday saw the opening of a Broadway revival of the musical Ragtime (pictured right), which EW's Melissa Rose Bernardo calls "dazzling" and gives an A. Also on Broadway, Sarah Ruhl's provocatively titled comic play In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play opened to a decidedly lukewarm review from yours truly: "Ruhl's play could have benefited from a broader, farcical touch." Elsewhere on Broadway, the Julia Stiles-Bill Pullman revival of David Mamet's Oleanna announced plans to close on Jan. 3. Off Broadway, we raved about both Alan Ayckbourn's My »

Although nothing much opened on the Great White Way this week, never fear, stage fans! Next week, we'll be posting new reviews of Broadway's musical revival Ragtime (at left) and the comedy In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play as well as the Alan Ayckbourn play My Wonderful Day Off Broadway and the Los Angeles productions of Mary Poppins and the drama Equivocation. If you are looking for something fresh from EW this week, though, read up on Broadway's new Spider-Man, Reeve Carney. But in the meantime, you can enjoy all the other great Stage coverage. Veteran's Day brought no shortage of veteran appreciation today in Twitter-Wood, prompting thanks and memories from across the board, as well as a personal note from "Twilight" actor Gil Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Jason Schwartzman's on his way to the NYC debut of "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which as a Wes Anderson follower, I am anxious to see myself this weekend. Another new release, "Precious," really got a hold of Tyrese Gibson, who said the film's been keeping him awake. Check out their thoughts along with pictures from Peter Facinelli and John Stamos and a Henry Winkler autograph to be jealous of after the jump. It's all in the Twitter-Wood report for November 11, 2009.

It was a mini Full House reunion last night at the Cool Comedy Hot Cuisine benefit in NYC, which was held to honor the Scleroderma Research Foundation. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen posed alongside their on-screen dad Bob Saget, who also brought his own daughters Lara and Aubrey. John Stamos was there as well, and he later entertained the crowd with Bob and SNL's Seth Meyers. The Olsens took a break from promoting Olsenboye long enough to support the cause close to Bob's heart, though their latest line is apparently already on clearance. When "Twilight" cast members began tweeting about subjects involving missing clothing, I definitely did not expect to log on to Twitter today and find out that Christian Serratos decided to outdo all of them, but but her new garment-less PETA ad definitely succeeded.
Dane Cook and Ice-t, meanwhile, were less focused on saving fur and more intent on playing "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" this weekend, according to their posts, and at least one of them found himself in possession of some nightvision goggles. Check all of that out after the jump along with Danny Masterson's criticism for Andre Agassi, "Toy Story 3" director Lee Unkrich's favorite childhood toy and much more. I'm @brianwarmoth and this is the Twitter-Wood report for November 9, 2009.

Beloved U.S. TV star John Stamos is to be honoured with the 2,393rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The actor, who was married to Rebecca Romijn, will unveil his star right next to Dick Van Dyke's - Van Dyke played Albert Peterson in the original Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie, and Stamos is currently onstage as Peterson in the new hit Broadway musical.
Stamos' unveiling will take place next week. »

This week saw the too-rapid close of the Neil Simon revival Brighton Beach Memoirs on Broadway, as well as the opening of three Off Broadway productions: The Understudy, starring Justin Kirk, Julie White, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar (above); Idiot Savant with Willem Dafoe; and Nightingale with Lynn Redgrave. Melissa Bernardo gave a B+ to The Understudy but dinged it for the cast's somewhat mixed on-stage chemistry. Thom Geier calls Idiot Savant "one strange, head-scratching evening" and gives it a C+. As for Lynn Redgrave's one-woman show, Nightingale, I gave it a C and took issue with the production because "the »

Actress Gina Gershon appeared in a new interview on "The Wendy Williams Show" this week to discuss her latest career move. Gershon stopped by on Tuesday, November 3 for the taping in New York, where Williams was also celebrating "Leopard Day."
The entire audience came to the taping decked out in their finest leopard animal prints. The host herself donned a leopard dress by Diane von Furstenburg, with fishnets by Capezio and jewelry from Roberta Chiarella.
The actress sat down to discuss her role as Rose Alvarez in the Broadway revival of "Bye Bye Birdie." Gershon even sported her won "Leopard Day" themed attire. "Bye Bye Birdie" also stars John Stamos in the 1960 remake.

Halloween tweets were way more interesting this morning since everyone was posting actual photos instead of just being indecisive about what to wear. "Twilight" star Billy Burke took the crown for most authentic, though, with his Sid Vicious outfit. He pretty much nailed the Sex Pistols' late bassist.
"Toy Story 3" director, Lee Unkrich, meanwhile retweeted a few incoming photos he received of well crafted character costumes. Gwen Stefani stood out from the pack in that batch, doing Woody's gal pal Jessie from "Toy Story 2." Then there was Fred Durst, who appears to have put a leg up on December, posting a shot of the Christmas tree he just set up in his living room. Check out all of those, as well as reactions from the World Series, Rob Zombie and John Stamos. They're all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for November 2, 2009.

This week saw the opening of two new Broadway productions, both revivals: The Neil Simon Plays: Brighton Beach Memoirs, a comedy-drama starring former Roseanne star Laurie Metcalf (left), which I described as "a fine revival, easily the best show of a young Broadway season," and the musical Finian's Rainbow, which Tanner Stransky called "an odd, farcical muscial" that is "well cast and smartly performed." Still hunting for something to see on stage? Our old Daily TwitPic pal John Stamos is back today. He's been absent for the past few weeks, it's true. A guy like Stamos is never truly gone though; Jesse Katsopolis will always, always be there, whether he likes it or not.
The pic you'll find after the jump is a blast from the past. I'm not too up on my celebrity power couples, but Stamos used to date actress Demi Moore if the Internet is to be believed. Moore is currently married to Ashton Kutcher while Stamos continues to enjoy a bachelor's life after his 2005 divorce, but one would imagine they're still close if Stamos is posting pics like this. And his tweeted message, to "enjoy today," is one we could all stand to take to heart. See the sepia-toned old days of Stamos and Moore after the jump.

The "last day on the battlefield" that David Slade tweeted about must have ended well, since Christian Serratos tweeted triumphantly that "Eclipse" filming wrapped in Vancouver yesterday. Elsewhere, he co-star Jodelle Ferland struggled with her Twitter icon after accidentally covering up her face with a lemon. Such have been the trials and tribulations in the Twitter world of "Twilight."
Miranda Cosgrove, meanwhile, didn't seem to be struggling with the new pair of glasses she TwitPic'd a look at for her followers to evaluate. Nor did Felicia Day seem to have any trouble with her new Twitter functionality on Xbox Live, which she appears to have installed. Check all of those out, along with some Soupy Sales memorial headlines, Paris Hilton's Hello Kitty diamonds and Emmy Rossum's call for Halloween costume ideas. They're all waiting after the jump in the Twitter-Wood report for October 23, 2009.

David Slade's still in the thick of "Eclipse" filming, and in his most recent tweetage from the set, it sounds like there's some violence in the mountains getting underway with some celebration on the side. A few of his cast members still seem to have Rome on their minds, which is understandable given the "New Moon" footage premiering there.
In completely non-"Twilight"-related posting, Ashton Kutcher's been hanging out with Barbra Streisand and Jeremy Piven headed out to an event being held by Matt Damon in San Francisco. Meanwhile, Ice-t's been shooting up the post-apocalyptic world of "Borderlands." To find out what he thoughts of it, as well as what Amanda Bynes thinks of marriage and what Arnold Schwarzenegger's been up to with a bunch of boy scouts, click onward to the Twitter-Wood report for October 22, 2009.

Why did John Stamos bother to lie about being drunk on a talk show when it was so obvious he was? And now he's confessed—why lie if you're just going to get caught? —Cotton, via the Answer B!tch inbox Come now. The stars, they already give us so much—sharing their mama's Cuban chicken recipe with Us Weekly and telling us that they're wearing Galliano on the red carpet. John Stamos has admitted he went on Australian TV drunk.
The 46-year-old 'ER' actor made an infamous appearance on talk show 'Mornings with Kerri-Anne' in 2007, and stunned viewers by reading presenter Kerri-Anne Kennerley's lines and making rude gestures.
He was told to blame the incident on jet lag.
John revealed to The Advocate magazine: "When I went on that morning show, I was drunk. Yes, I was on sleeping pills and I was jet-lagged, but I was also just plastered. And I never said I wasn't, but that whole publicity machine got involved and said, 'Just say he was jet-lagged.' I said, 'No, tell them the truth! I was f***ing drunk in Australia. Big deal.' "
John also spoke about reality TV, claiming he will not appear on shows such as talent contest 'Dancing with the Stars' in the foreseeable future.
