Mark Dacascos of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" will be starring in a film from Indican Pictures. "Only the Brave" will be re-released on DVD in conjunction with the Veterans Day celebration events on November 10.
Along with Dacascos, the film also features Jeff Fahey ("Lawnmower Man," "Lost"), Jason Scott Lee ("Balls of Fury"), Tamlyn Tomita ("Joy Luck Club") and Pat Morita ("Karate Kid I, II, II"). This was the last live action film of actor Pat Morita's career.
"Only the Brave" focuses on the 100th Infantry Battalion/42nd Regimental Combat Team, a segregated World War II fighting unit entirely made up of Japanese Americans.
The 2006 independent movie uncovers the U.S. heroes who received 21 Medals of Honor, 9,486 Purple Hearts, 8 Presidential Citations, 53 Distinguished Service Crosses, 588 Silver Stars and 5,200 Bronze stars. The group of men was the most decorated unit of their size in American military history.

East West Players (Ewp), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, increases their star-studded evening with appearances from some of Asian America's top media personalities. Leading the evening's festivities as Master and Mistress of Ceremonies will be actor Francois Chau and actress Tamlyn Tomita. There will also be appearance by Carrie Ann Inaba, State Controller John Chiang, Amy Hill, Hgtv's Jonathan Fong and performances by Taikoproject and vocalist Ethan Le Phong. The award winning event will take place at the Hilton Universal City on Monday, April 27, 2009. Proceeds from the event will benefit East West Players' educational and artistic programs. Previously announced performers are Lea Salonga, The Three Filipino Tenors and Quest Crew. »
