FX Network has announced that it's ordered an additional 13 episodes of its acclaimed series Sons of Anarchy for what will be the show's third season. If you haven't seen it, Sons of Anarchy explores a slice of Americana by which most people are at once appalled and yet fascinated.
Starring Charlie Hunnam, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman, the show is an adrenaline drama with darkly comedic undertones that showcases a notorious outlaw motorcycle club (Mc) and its desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that: charming. The Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers, hate groups and overzealous law officers. Behind the Mc's familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless and illegally thriving arms business.

About 4.33 million viewers hooked their eyes on "Sons of Anarchy" season 2 finale on Tuesday, December 1. It was FX Network's number-one program for the night, the top-rated show on television in the 10:00 Pm time period and also the most-watched episode ever for "Sons", surpassing its season two premiere. For that, "Sons" is granted a third season order.
"The success of Sons of Anarchy is very gratifying and the show has become a bona-fide hit," said FX President and General Manager John Landgraf. "The critics have recognized Sons as one the best series on television, and the show has earned its place alongside FX's great drama series The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Rescue Me and Damages. Creatively, this season was spectacular and all credit goes to Kurt [Sutter] and the incredible cast led by Katey Sagal, Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman."

Lionsgate has shot over the official synopsis for Season of the Witch. Lionsgate's supernatural thriller, Season Of The Witch, stars Nicolas Cage as medieval knight Behmen who undertakes a mission pitting him against an devious witch and making him the last hope for the world against an ancient and dark force. His faith broken by years of battle as a crusader, Behmen returns to central Europe to find his homeland decimated by the Black Plague.
While searching for food and supplies at the Palace at Marburg, Behmen and his trusted companion, Felson (Ron Perlman) are apprehended and ordered by the dying Cardinal to deliver a young peasant girl - believed to be the witch responsible for the Plague - to a remote abbey where her powers can be destroyed. Behmen agrees to the assignment but only if the peasant girl is granted a fair trial.

When Superman: The Animated Series debuted that bright childhood day, the first thing I remember thinking was “It’s not as cool as Batman.” Dropping the black paper background of Batman: The Animated Series in favor of a brighter and more traditional white, Superman was a cheerier series right from the outset. Whereas Batman only gave passing glances to the dark origin of Bruce Wayne’s caped crusader, Superman’s is embroiled in many of the plots for each episode. When it comes to DC iconography, the difference between the significance of the emblems on each hero’s chest becomes even more apparent in the animated series. Batman’s yellow and black bat logo became an instrument, a tool; Superman’s logo, however, the sign of his lineage, works its way into many of the show’s storylines. Whether it’s a villain looking for the last Kryptonian, a princess »

A sadness surrounds the excitement over Tuesday night's finale of the engrossing season two of the FX drama "Sons of Anarchy." Fans will understand the mixed feelings I am currently wrestling with, wanting the classically-themed tale set in a world of motorcycle clubs to go on; the show has become an adult drama of epic proportions. No wasted frames, and each character written with a precision that makes you love them all, even the most derelict and criminally inclined of the lot. I am as interested in the chief's (Dayton Callie) back story as I am the mystery surrounding Jax's deceased Samcro founding dad John Teller and Clay's (Ron Perlman) murky past, still a wild card reveal »

Oh, Nicolas Cage, the Internet sure does love you. This morning brought us the crazycakes trailer for Season of the Witch, which…is like Kevin Costner's Robin Hood from back in the day, plus evil stuff and Ron Perlman: How do you not use the Donovan song? How?! But that's the least of our Nic Cage Internet Treats. What of these wonderful vinyl stickies? The "Nicolas Cage Adventure Set" by artist Brandon Bird, of Law and Order valentine fame. In an attempt to capitalize on the success of the teen-centric Twilight Saga, a 23 second teaser trailer for Beastly has been released and, even though it is exceptionally short, it is quite possibly one of the worst film promos I have ever seen. It’s the kind of bad where you laugh unintentionally at the voice-over. The teaser actually makes this big budget theatrical release look more like a TV movie or even a TV series.
Adapted from Alex Flinn’s 2007 novel of the same, Beastly is a re-imagining of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast set in modern day New York (which by the way has previously been done in the Beauty and the Beast TV series starring Ron Perlman). Written and directed by Daniel Barnz, Beastly stars Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker) in the lead role (who apparently only needs to shave his head, sport some odd tattoos, and »

Spring will be a busy time for Nicolas Cage. His reunion with Gone in 60 Seconds director Dominic Sena, Season of the Witch, opens just a month before Cage stars as Big Daddy in the comic book adaptation Kick-Ass.
Season of the Witch is a departure for both the actor and director. Cage plays an American-accented crusader in the Black Plague-affected 14th century who is tasked with transporting a suspected witch to a monastery, along with Ron Perlman. Lionsgate has just released the trailer and a TV spot for Season of the Witch, both of which have Cage proclaiming, "cut off the head." Cleary they're trying to give Witch a horror edge, but considering Sena's resume, the movie will likely be more action than horror. Check out both below.
Next Showing: Season of the Witch opens March 19, 2010

Amongst the many, rich, and varied reasons to make fun of Nicolas Cage (his acting, his hair, his choice of roles, his inappropriate and off-putting mannerisms, The Wicker Man remake) comes his latest genre effort (I say 'effort', but I don't really mean it); Season of the Witch, from Lionsgate. Cage stars as a 14th-century Crusader who has to transport a hot witch to an abbey, where she'll be exorcised. Cage sports longish extensions, a sword, and other 'period' accessories while being a 50-year-old hero in a time when he would have been called 'grandpa.' Of course, our witch is young and sexy because women over 30 are too old. She even (dare I suggest?) uses her sexuality as a force of evil to attempt to corrupt the men! Expect loud noises! Expect bad acting! Expect non-scary religious horror that never really explains itself!...

Frankly, I didn’t expect a whole lot from Dominic Sena’s “Season of the Witch”, especially after the teaser trailer surfaced last month. And oh yeah, the movie stars Nicolas Cage, and when that’s the case, there’s an 80-20 percent chance he’s going to sleep walk his way through the movie, all the while daydreaming about all the wacky things he could buy with his paycheck. (In case you haven’t heard; Nic Cage is pretty much broke.) When even Ron Perlman can’t make your movie look decent, you know you’re in trouble. Of course, the fact that it focuses too much on Nic Cage’s bored face and dialogue delivery doesn’t help. Via Lionsgate, here’s the full trailer for “Season of the Witch”. 14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce her powers could be the source of the Black Plague. »

Ever wondered how Nicolas Cage would look as a 14th Century Crusader? If so, then wonder no more as we now have a first look trailer from Old Nic's latest flick, Season Of The Witch.
Despite the megastar's inability to lose his American accent, this Dominic Sena-directed tale of knights, witches and all manner of nasty beasties looks like it could be a lot of fun and will hopefully break Cage's long-standing run of bad luck with the critics.
What's more, the likes of Ron Perlman, Stephen Graham, Stephen Campbell Moore and Claire Foy are doing the solid supporting thing, so we're expecting pretty decent things from this.

It was only a month ago when we got our first super-teaser trailer for Season of the Witch that made us think production was far from complete. Not so! Almost exactly a month later, Lionsgate has released a feature trailer for the film that shows a ton and ensures us that the film will most definitely be ready for its March release date.
Season of the Witch Trailer
When two knights (Nicolas Cage, Ron Perlman) return from the Crusades, they find their homeland ravaged by the Black Plague. The church blames the plague on sorcery, and orders the knights to escort an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual that they hope will put an end to the pestilence. When they arrive, the knights make a horrific discovery that pits them against a powerful and destructive force. »

This is one film I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time, horror, action, sorcery and Nicolas Cage – expect it to be an easy to follow, laid back dip into the horror pool. The trailer itself is pretty damn good it has to be said, check it out in all it’s glory below:
